The systems run the business, whilst you simply oversee the systems.
What is SASi?
We see these four words bouncing all over the internet, but what is their importance in the world of business?
Systemize
A hugely successful business guru and mentor who wrote the bestselling book, The E-Myth – Why most businesses don't work and what to do about it. Published in 1986 — considered by The Wall Street Journal, to be the #1 business book of all time. The writer had incredible insight at that time and never before have his words been more relevant than in today's tech-savvy world of online digital trading. The writer stated;
"Organize around business functions, not people. Build systems within each business function. Let systems run the business and people run the systems. People come and go, but the systems remain constant."
- Michael E Gerber
By not having an efficient system in place, you are in a vulnerable position and risk losing everything. What if you become incapacitated for some reason? You're the key person who knows every aspect of your business, so it's difficult for someone else to step in. If your business is not systemized, inevitably, in the event of your absence, you could lose everything you've worked so hard to achieve. Sadly, it's even happened to the best of the best.
Would you like a business that is systemized and runs without you? The first thing to do is commit to building your business into something amazing. Systemising a company the right way does take time. However, the results are positively life-changing for you and your business.
If a business or company is to thrive in the world of 21st-century online digital trading, it can no longer merely rely on the owner to do everything. It's overwhelming, to say the least. The owner/entrepreneur ends up bogged down in the tasks of running the operation instead of generating new business and growing the brand. Systemizing allows the business/company to operate in the absence of the owner; the business should operate itself.
Systems also help employees and departments to stay on the same page. The more people working together, the more critical it is that the left-hand knows what the right hand is doing to ensure continuity. A perfect example of highly successful systemization is with companies like McDonald's, Pizza Hut, or Starbucks. You can walk into any one of their tens of thousands of restaurants worldwide, and receive the same service and products because the standards of operation are replicated through the use of automated systems. The customer is automatically in a comfort zone and knows precisely what to expect. Return custom is high volume for those reasons.
Information systems also gather vital, analytical data concerning every aspect of a business and its operations. Data gathering allows you to view comparisons and make improvements, such as sales and marketing performance (including staff performance), CRM, profit and loss projections, stats, etc. The data is automatically converted into easy-to-understand charts and graphs; maximizing consistency and predictability within your business model. Systemizing your operation also facilitates continuous streamlining. The user will be able to pinpoint any clutter or unnecessaries and cut them from the process — creating smarter profit margins. I will cover the subject of streamlining more extensively later.
Systemizing gives you the confidence the company is operating with continuity, and your customer base is taken care of (CRM) — even in your absence.
Consumers are creatures of habit and gravitate towards companies where they know precisely what they're going to get every time they shop. They need to trust a company will deliver quality and service every time. CRM (customer relations management) is another example of why systemizing will maximize an excellent and fruitful customer experience with a company through vital data gathering. Therefore creating a more personal relationship between the consumer and online traders, in much the same way as a customer will experience when they shop in stores. Polished CRM will promote return custom.
Automate
When online business owners automate their work, they can spend less time on menial tasks and more on day-to-day management. Automation also removes much frustration from manual labor that comes with running a company in this digital age where everything can be done remotely or at an office via computerized machinery, such as robots who perform many repetitive motions repeatedly without error while performing multiple jobs simultaneously!
Automation is one of the most powerful ways to grow your online business, and it can be a lot more than just saving you time. Automating tasks will put you in an excellent position for success as well because instead of focusing on doing all those tedious things by hand every day or week -you'll have plenty of energy left over from running larger operations!
Streamline
If you want to succeed in business, streamlining your operations is critical. By reducing time-to-market and focusing on innovation, you can stay ahead of the competition and keep your customers happy.
There are a few key ways to streamline your business:
1. Automate as much as possible.
2. Focus on your core competencies.
3. Outsource non-essential tasks.
Automation is key to reducing time-to-market and increasing efficiency. Automating repetitive tasks can free up your team to focus on more important things. There are a number of ways to automate your business, from using automation software to hiring virtual assistants.
Focus on your core competencies and outsource the rest. Your core competencies are the things that you do better than anyone else. Everything else can be outsourced to experts who can do it more efficiently and effectively.
Outsourcing non-essential tasks will help you focus on your core business and free up your team to work on more important things. There are several ways to outsource, from hiring freelancers to using online services.
By streamlining your business, you can reduce time-to-market, focus on your core competencies, and increase efficiency. This will help you stay ahead of the competition and ahead of the game!
Integrate
No business can function properly these days without some form of integration. Your various systems need to be able to talk to each other in order to share data and ensure a cohesive operation. This is why integration is a must for any business that wants to stay competitive.
There are many benefits to integrating your systems, including:
- Improved efficiency: When your systems are integrated, data can be shared seamlessly between them, eliminating the need for duplicate data entry and reducing the chances of errors. This can save your business time and money.
- Greater visibility: An integrated system gives you a single view of your data, which can help you make better-informed decisions.
- Increased flexibility: An integrated system is more flexible and adaptable than a siloed system, making it easier to scale your business as needed.
If you're not already integrating your systems, now is the time to do so. It's essential for today's businesses and will give you a significant competitive advantage.
